Philosophy Of Moderation : Junk Food

Image
"Speak Any Language Instantly! 3-Minute Method! Totally Free!"   Today morning when I woke up, my son told me that he wants to take some junk food to school as Dussera breaks will be starting and he wants to celebrate it with his school friends and party around with some junk food. So, I gave him some homemade cookies and cupcakes. I did not say "No" to him.  Forbidden fruit is indeed sweeter. So when children ask for snacks or junk food, it is better to give them a little (in moderate quantity) than to deny them altogether. Saying “no” straightaway to sweet treats or unhealthy snacks will only make children desire them  more.  Give them a choice when they ask for it – ask them if they would like to have it now  or later. If they insist on it there and then, tell them that the next round will have to be the next day or the day after, depending on whatever rules you have set for them.      I've always liked the concept of the "80/20" r

Festival Fun With Navratri..!!

"Speak Any Language Instantly! 3-Minute Method! Totally Free!" Good Morning Everyone,    Hope yesterday's Sunday was a Funday for you all. I was very occupied the whole day as it's festival    time. Here in India we have Navaratri and Durga Pooja which is celebrated with  great zeal.  For youngsters, Navratri is a time of dance and merriment, through playing   dandiya  with friends and loved ones. It is said that at the end of the nine nights, young   people end up finding the perfect life partner. For older people, Navratri is a time to show their devotion through prayer and fasting. I don't fall into either of these categories, because I can neither dance not fast !! But I still love the festival.  When I was a kid I had been to Kolkata specially for Durga Pooja because I had heard that in Kolkata alone more than two-thousand pandals are set up, all clamoring for the admiration and praise of the populace.      The city is adorned with light

The Joy Of Rain...!!

"Speak Any Language Instantly! 3-Minute Method! Totally Free!" Good Morning Guys, It was a beautiful weather today as it's been drizzling since morning. Little droplets of water, cool breeze, that faint smell of wet earth that clicks my mood. Aaaawww....I just love every bit of it. Rain is possibly the best season by far that occurs throughout the year. I don’t remember waiting for any festival or event as eagerly as I wait for the first refreshing showers. The  grey clouds and moist breeze never fail to fill me with enthusiasm. How I wish it rained all  year! I believe rain has the power to not only dissolve all my worries but also fill in my body    and mind with new joy and vigor. It is indeed the perfect time to get lost in the world of warm coffee, lush green surroundings and books!       I am penning this as I watch numerous raindrops fall from a large cloud on a perfect rainy day. The leaves, branches and my hair waving happily in the strong, c

Know That You Are Beautiful..!!

"Speak Any Language Instantly! 3-Minute Method! Totally Free!" Good Morning Lovely People, Every morning when I see myself in the mirror, I just don't see my image, I see a beautiful woman who has the power to conquer the world.  You just need to know how beautiful you are, no matter how hard society tries to tell you otherwise. You do not have to be a size zero to be beautiful and you also don't have to be a size two to be considered healthy. Beauty comes in all different shapes, sizes, ages, and forms.         Some women struggle with weight and force themselves to succumb to harsh realities to try to fit into what society deems beautiful. Women who are naturally thin face the scrutiny of people who believe that they have an eating disorder just because of their size when, in reality, they are perfectly healthy. Beauty is everywhere, you just have to choose to see it. The  girl with the heart of gold who puts everyone before herself is beautiful

Power Of A Power-Nap..!!

Image
"Speak Any Language Instantly! 3-Minute Method! Totally Free!" Good Afternoon Friends, I had a busy morning today so I shifted my writing schedule to later half of the day. I just woke up after a magical power nap and now I feel fresh and revived.  Taking a timeout to sleep during the day does much more than just give us a quick energy boost.  Power naps can not only alleviate our so-called sleep deficits, but they can also boost our brains, including improvements to creative problem solving, verbal memory, perceptual learning, object learning, and statistical learning. They help us with math, logical reasoning, our reaction times, and symbol recognition. Naps improve our mood and feelings of sleepiness and fatigue. Not only that, napping is good for our heart, blood pressure, stress levels, and surprisingly, even weight management.       A power nap is a sleep session that happens during the day (ideally between 1:00 to 4:00 PM) lasting between 10

Silver Lining to Every Cloud..

Image
"Speak Any Language Instantly! 3-Minute Method! Totally Free!" Good Morning Friends, Today morning when I woke up, I could not see the sun. The sky was dark and gloomy as there were intense clouds in the sky.  Thick and dark clouds obstructed the sun. The surroundings were darkened. It was not a pleasant sight.    But then I looked at the clouds carefully and I saw that their edges are tinted with a silvery       glow. This glow convinced me that the sun is somewhere there behind the clouds. As time passed, the clouds moved off and the sun came out of it.  I suddenly thought of the famous proverb " Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining ". And then began to relate it with some instances which made me believe in this proverb more strongly.  This clever metaphor is used in the proverb to denote that sorrows and calamities are only momentary. Wherever there is sorrow, happiness will be somewhere nearby. Whenever there is shadow, light should be nearby. A
